• Gifts of Cash: The CARES Act allows taxpayers who take the standard deduction to make up to $300 of charitable contributions to qualified charities. Itemizers can deduct up to 100% of adjusted gross income. As of now, this only applies to 2020.
• Stock or Securities: Make a gift of stock or securities to Agassiz Village and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of your stock. Please call Lisa Carter, Executive Director, at 781-860-0200 ext.1006 to make your stock gift.
• Individual Retirement Account: If you or a family member are 70½ or older with an individual retirement account (IRA), you can make a tax-free gift to Agassiz Village directly from your IRA. This is called a qualified charitable distribution. Through the SECURE Act you can transfer any amount up to $100,000 per year directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distribution.
• Donor-Advised Funds: Give through your donor-advised fund to maximize your impact. Your fund sponsor handles all record-keeping, disbursements, and tax receipts.
Youth Groups join us for a fun adventure at Agassiz Village
Our 330-acre facility includes sprawling fields, over 40 building including cabins and amphitheater, along picturesque Lake Thompson in Poland, ME. The camp combines nature's best with a touch of rustic charm. The grounds include housing, dining and cooking facilities, lakefront including two islands, basketball courts, gaga court, archery, ropes course, climbing wall, and water sports.

Facility Description
AV Dining Hall & Lawn
Our dining hall is one of the largest freestanding log cabin structures in the world. The building is rich in history and makes for a great rustic setting for any event. The building has two bathrooms, a commercial kitchen, a wrap-around porch and a large lawn. The rental of the building includes the use of our tables and benches, which can seat up to a maximum of 250 people (150 guests is recommended for most comfortable seating).
Kitchen
Agassiz Village has a full industrial kitchen with walk-in refrigerator and freezer, grill top, ovens, ice machine and dish washer.
Activities
Various activities include exploring nature, hiking trails, swimming, canoeing, boating, archery, gaga, basketball, ropes course, climbing wall, arts and crafts, drama and dance.
Amphitheater
The Warren H. Burroughs Outdoor Amphitheater is one of our newest additions and seats about 275 people and has a large stage that overlooks beautiful Lake Thompson.
Gazebo
Formerly a carousel, our Gazebo has recently been renovated and restored to its former beauty. It may be used for outdoor activities and meetings.
Health Center
Our health center has also been recently updated and has multiple rooms for various medical uses.

Describe your facilities?
We have 16 camper cabins and each one has room for 14-16 campers. We have additional cabins dedicated to housing for staff. Our Maloney Hall is set up like a lodge with 12 single room and a meeting area. Sports facilities include basketball courts, archery field, ropes course, climbing wall, nature trails, swimming, canoeing, boating and gaga court. We have two outdoor structures for outdoor activities – the amphitheater and the gazebo. Our dining hall is equipped for 225-250 guests.
