SUMMER 2026 POSITIONS

ACTIVITIES

 

Activity Coordinator (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Activity Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all programming and program counselors (archery, performing arts, yoga, art, nature, sports, etc.). They are also responsible for creating and implementing all-camp activity curriculum, guidelines and procedures that align with the program goals and outcomes Agassiz wants to achieve. They are accountable for the daily needs of the program including maintenance, facilitating, leading and/or supervising the specific program areas and providing constant positive feedback and guiding the campers and staff to strive for excellence in everything they do. The Activity Coordinator collaborates closely with the Program Manager and Camp Director to ensure all campers and staff are having fun, collaborating, exploring and thriving. Together with the Assistant Activity Coordinator you are responsible for 5-8 staff members (activity instructors) and ensuring they are running adequate programming that is consistent with the outcomes we want children to achieve.

 

 

Assistant Activity Coordinator (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Assistant Activity Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Activity Coordinator in creating and overseeing all evening and weekend programming (Olympics, carnival, village events, movie night, overnight camping, talent shows, dance, etc.). They are also responsible for creating and implementing the activity curriculum, guidelines and procedures that align with the program goals and outcomes Agassiz wants to achieve. The Assistant Activity Coordinator works closely with the Activity Coordinator to ensure all campers are having fun, collaborating, exploring and thriving. Together you are responsible for 5-8 staff members (activity instructors) and ensuring they are running adequate programming that is consistent with the outcomes we want children to achieve.

 

CABIN STAFF

 

Village Leader (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village (AV) Village Leader (VL) is directly responsible for overseeing all aspects of the cabin life within the ‘village’ and is accountable for the final outcomes of the ‘village’.  The Village Leader is responsible for ensuring that campers and cabin counselors participate in the AV programs and activities in a safe and supportive environment.  The Village Leader directly supervises 10 counselors and 60 campers ages 8-14 to ensure program scheduling, conflict resolution, behavior management, motivation, health and well-being of campers and staff in the village.  The Village Leader also ensures that campers’ needs and issues are managed while also ensuring that staff engagement with campers is appropriate and consistent with AV mission and policies and procedures. At the end of the Camp season, the Village Leader supervises the efficient storage of all cabin/village supplies and equipment.  The Village Leader also provides the Camp Director with a formal report that includes evaluations of the Counselor staff and an operations review with recommendations for the next Camp season. 

 

Assistant Village Leader (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Assistant Village Leader (AVL) supports the Village Leader in overseeing all aspects of the cabin life within the ‘village’ and is accountable for the final outcomes of the ‘village’.  The AVL along with the Village Leader is responsible for ensuring that campers and cabin counselors participate in the AV programs and activities in a safe and supportive environment.  The AVL supports the Village Leader in directly supervising 10 counselors and 60 campers ages 8-17 to ensure program scheduling, conflict resolution, behavior management, motivation, health and well-being of campers and staff in the village. The AVL ensures that campers’ needs and issues are managed while also ensuring that staff engagement with campers is appropriate and consistent with AV mission and policies and procedures. Both Village Leaders and Assistant Village Leaders must be willing and able to act as a cabin counselor in cases when such is necessary.

 

Camp Counselor (Seasonal Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Camp Counselor is responsible for ensuring overall camper well-being, keeping a cabin group of 12 campers (ages vary from 8-17) on schedule with activities, and leading camp activities.  A counselor’s work includes assisting with camper management during activities, in cabins, on sports fields, at the waterfront and in the dining hall. Counselors may lead daily activities, like crafts, outdoor games, musical performances, and may perform other responsibilities.  Counselors supervise and manage campers at all times, except during scheduled breaks.  Counselors participate in whole camp activities and special events such as talent shows, and camp competitions. Counselors also accompany youth on overnight trips to one of our islands. The Camp Counselor is responsible for helping to implement Agassiz Village Social & Emotional Learning curriculum by setting a positive example for kids. Counselors set the tone of the cabin, create the cabin rules with youth, correct inappropriate behavior, and ensure personal grooming, cabin clean up, bedtime routines are happening. Counselors are the ambassadors of fun, while following all safety rules and regulations.  

 

HEALTH

 

Health Center EMT (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Health Center EMT works closely with the Camp Nurses to ensure effective daily operations of the Camp’s Health Center and health and wellness of Agassiz Village campers and staff. Health Center Staff also ensures compliance with state and federal laws and American Camp Association (ACA) standard requirements. At the end of Camp season, the Health Center Staff conduct an efficient pack down of Health Center operations. The Camp Nurse and Health Center staff will provide the Camp Director with a formal report that includes an operations review with recommendations for the next Camp season.

 

Social Work Fieldwork Internship (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: This position is open to applicants currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Behavioral/Wellness Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other M.E.S.H. related fields. The Social Work Internship role is critical in supporting the behavioral, mental, and social wellness of campers ages 8-17 throughout their time at our overnight summer camp. They are responsible for establishing strong, positive relationships with the youth at camp, as well as serving as a resource for other seasonal program staff. This is a residential position, requiring full-time residence at Agassiz Village’s camp from June 20 to August 7, 2026. Free room and board are provided as well as a stipend.

 

INSTRUCTORS

 

Archery Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Archery Instructor facilitates full-day programs for youth ages 8-17. This role is responsible for planning archery curriculum and flow of the day, setting up and breakdown of the course, facilitating the program with campers, and maintaining safety.  The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and age groups. Group size varies but typically the instructor will have 12 campers per period, several times during the day.  Training and certification provided for the archery instructor if necessary. The archery instructor will also act as a cabin counselor when not leading archery programming.

 

Arts Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Arts Instructor develops and implements art lessons that interest and engage students ages 8-17 for 6 weeks during the summer. The ideal candidate will be able to create lessons that inspire creativity, while having fun within the classroom. The instructor should be an imaginative, experienced person who inspires fascinating projects such as collage, printing, sculpture, painting, tie-dye, candle making, puppets, masks, and multi-media projects for co-ed campers. This position includes organizing projects and materials for each day of camp as well as creating samples of each project. We are looking for a creative person who can create a curriculum for all ages. Group size varies but typically the instructor will have 12 campers per period, several times during the day. The arts instructor will also act as a cabin counselor when not leading arts programming.

 

Challenge Course Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Challenge Course Instructor facilitates full-day programs for youth ages 8-17. This role is responsible for planning curriculum and flow of the day, set up and break down of the course, facilitating students through the program elements, and maintaining safety.  The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and ages. Class size varies but typically the instructor will have 12 students per hour several times throughout the day. 

 

Social and Emotional Experiential Learning Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Social and Emotional Experiential Learning Instructor facilitates activities for youth ages 8-16. This role is responsible for planning an SEL curriculum, flow of each activity, set up and break down of the activities, facilitating students, and maintaining safety.  The SEL activities you facilitate should support camper growth in the following areas: critical thinking, perseverance, communication, social awareness and peer relationships, teamwork, and self-regulation. Campers will be assessed at the beginning and end of each session so you can track the success of the SEL program and use those outcomes to support campers and make necessary improvements to the program. The SEL coordinator will build the capacity of other camp staff members to understand and implement SEL in their work with campers, and they will oversee the collection and interpretation of assessment data such as camper feedback forms and counselor interviews. The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and ages. Class size varies but typically the instructor will have 12-14 students per period several times throughout the day. When not actively leading SEL activities, the SEL instructor will act in the capacity of a Cabin Counselor with an assigned cabin group.

 

Yoga Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Yoga Instructor develops lesson plans and teaches yoga and meditation lessons that help students ages 8-17 to learn how to self-regulate through breath-work and mindful movement for 6 weeks during the summer. The Yoga Instructor should possess yoga experience as a participant and an instructor as well as a passion for passing on life skills and values through athletic participation. The ideal candidate will be able to create lessons that increase body awareness in a safe and controlled way, which can promote feelings of physical, emotional, and psychological safety for co-ed campers. The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and ages. Class size varies but typically the instructor will have 12-14 students per period several times throughout the day. When not actively leading yoga classes, the yoga instructor will act in the capacity of a Cabin Counselor with an assigned cabin group.

 

OPERATIONS

 

Agassiz Village Operations Coordinator (Seasonal - Summer 2026)      

POSITION SUMMARY: Agassiz Village seeks a highly organized, compassionate, and proactive Operations Coordinator to ensure smooth and efficient operations during our 8-week summer camp program. This behind-the-scenes yet highly visible role oversees the business functions of camp, including finance, human resources, food services, and risk management—and plays a vital part in creating a safe, joyful, and mission-aligned experience for campers and staff. The Operations Coordinator helps coordinate meal services, maintenance and laundry staff, and supports all aspects of staff onboarding, certifications, time-off scheduling, and payroll. This role also manages supply ordering, maintenance requests, and supports daily camp logistics. Strong computer skills, excellent communication, and a customer service mindset are essential. 

 

Assistant Operations Coordinator (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village (AV) Assistant Operations Coordinator supports the Operations Coordinator in ensuring the smooth running of camp operations. The Assistant Operations Coordinator also creates opportunities for work/life balance for Agassiz Village summer staff members. They will be responsible for picking up staff from the bus or airport, driving staff off camp in the evenings and taking staff on excursions on their days off.  The Driver will be responsible for planning the daily scheduling, advertising opportunities to staff members and encouraging staff to sign up in advance for opportunities.  They may also be responsible for picking up and dropping off campers when needed.  The Assistant Operations Coordinator should have a customer-service-oriented disposition, fun and outgoing attitude, and enjoy interacting with people from all over the country and the world. Experience is a plus but not required. Safe driving skills are a must. This position is for a reliable, safety-driven, organized individual with a desire for fun and adventure! 

 

Office Assistant (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Office Assistant is responsible for delivering high quality customer service to camper families and summer staff through computer data input, verbal communication, and other office support as needed. The Office Assistant is an integral member of our team and contributes to the success of each camper’s summer experience. You interact with both camp staff and camper families on a regular basis, making many positive contributions to the lives of our campers and staff. The Office Assistant is often the first point of contact for campers and provides a positive customer experience for staff, parents, and campers.

  

WATERFRONT

 

Waterfront Director (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Waterfront Director is responsible for supervising a team of 6-7 lifeguards, and 150 campers ages 8-17 while on the waterfront, including all water activities, equipment, and facilities. The Waterfront Director ensures that the camp’s waterfront program and protocols are followed in compliance with the regulations for Department of Health and American Camp Association standards.  They will provide a safe and nurturing environment for all and will be actively involved and have a positive attitude about all camp activities.

 

Assistant Waterfront Director (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Waterfront Director is responsible for supporting the Waterfront Director supervising a team of 6-7 lifeguards, and 150 campers ages 8-17 while on the waterfront, including all water activities, equipment, and facilities. The Waterfront Director ensures that the camp’s waterfront program and protocols are followed in compliance with the regulations for Department of Health and American Camp Association standards.  The Assistant Waterfront Director serves as the Person in Charge of the Waterfront any time the Waterfront Director is unavailable and takes on all duties in the WD’s absence. As a member of the leadership team, the AWD also assists in other areas of camp leadership, supporting all team members in carrying out their duties and responsibilities to ensure a positive camp experience for campers and staff.

 

Lifeguard/Boat Driver Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY:  The Agassiz Village Lifeguard/Boat Driver facilitates full-day programs for youth ages 8-17. This role is responsible for driving the boats during the Waterfront activity periods and lifeguarding during free swim periods.  They are responsible for planning the boating curriculum and ensuring skills building for campers. They set up and break down the program area, facilitating students through the program elements, and maintaining safety.  Along with the Waterfront Director, they ensure that the Camp’s waterfront program and protocols are followed in compliance with the regulations for Department of Health and American Camp Association standards.  The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and ages. Class size varies but typically the instructor will have 12-14 students per period several times throughout the day. When not actively working at the Waterfront, the lifeguard/boat driver will act in the capacity of a Cabin Counselor with an assigned cabin group.

 

Lifeguard/Canoe Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Lifeguard/Canoe Instructor facilitates full-day programs for youth ages 8-17. This role is responsible for teaching canoeing skills during the Waterfront activity periods and lifeguarding during free swim periods.  They are responsible for planning the canoe curriculum and ensuring skills building for campers. They set up and break down the program area, facilitating students through the program elements, and maintaining safety.  Along with the Waterfront Director, they ensure that the Camp’s waterfront program and protocols are followed in compliance with the regulations for Department of Health and American Camp Association standards.  The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and ages. Class size varies but typically the instructor will have 12-14 students per period several times throughout the day. When not actively working at the Waterfront, the lifeguard/canoe instructor will act in the capacity of a Cabin Counselor with an assigned cabin group.

 

Lifeguard/Swim Instructor (Seasonal - Summer 2026)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Agassiz Village Lifeguard/Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching swimming skills to campers ages 8-16 during the Waterfront activity periods and lifeguarding during free swim periods.  They are responsible for planning the swimming instruction curriculum and ensuring skills building for campers. They set up and break down the program area, facilitating students through the program elements, and maintaining safety.  Along with the Waterfront Director, they ensure that the Camp’s waterfront program and protocols are followed in compliance with the regulations for Department of Health and American Camp Association standards. The ideal candidate will be skilled in facilitation and working with a variety of students and ages. Class size varies but typically the instructor will have 12-14 students per period several times throughout the day. When not actively working at the Waterfront, the lifeguard/boat driver will act in the capacity of a Cabin Counselor with an assigned cabin group.
