• Gifts of Cash: The CARES Act allows taxpayers who take the standard deduction to make up to $300 of charitable contributions to qualified charities. Itemizers can deduct up to 100% of adjusted gross income. As of now, this only applies to 2020.
• Stock or Securities: Make a gift of stock or securities to Agassiz Village and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of your stock. Please call Lisa Carter, Executive Director, at 781-860-0200 ext.1006 to make your stock gift.
• Individual Retirement Account: If you or a family member are 70½ or older with an individual retirement account (IRA), you can make a tax-free gift to Agassiz Village directly from your IRA. This is called a qualified charitable distribution. Through the SECURE Act you can transfer any amount up to $100,000 per year directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distribution.
• Donor-Advised Funds: Give through your donor-advised fund to maximize your impact. Your fund sponsor handles all record-keeping, disbursements, and tax receipts.

Agassiz Village is a nonprofit that provides opportunities for children in underserved communities from Massachusetts to Maine. For 88 years, our 330-acre overnight summer camp on Thompson Lake in Poland, Maine has provided a unique learning program that challenges kids to discover interests, uncover new skills, make lifetime friendships, and connect with inspiring mentors. The skills kids learn at camp and through our year-round high school program, help them thrive in school, college and beyond.
Agassiz Village was honored to work hand in hand with the team at Sea Bags to create this one-of-a-kind bag design. Each Sea Bag is made right here in Portland, ME and is designed, sewn and finished by skilled Maine craftspeople. The care that goes into each bag is evident and each one is durable, water resistant, and ready for a new life of adventure. Because each bag is made from a recycled sail, the inside of your bag may have unique details like zig zag stitching, maker’s marks and signs of hard sailing. These facets speak to the authenticity of the company’s recycled sail products and make each bag wholly unique, which we think our Thompson Lake neighbors and friends will love and appreciate.
All orders for the limited-edition Thompson Lake Sea Bag® must be placed by midnight on Sunday, July 7th, 2024. The bags will be manufactured in July and can be delivered ($20.00 shipping fee applies) the middle of August or picked up for no additional charge at Agassiz Village.
