• Gifts of Cash: The CARES Act allows taxpayers who take the standard deduction to make up to $300 of charitable contributions to qualified charities. Itemizers can deduct up to 100% of adjusted gross income. As of now, this only applies to 2020.
• Stock or Securities: Make a gift of stock or securities to Agassiz Village and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation of your stock. Please call Lisa Carter, Executive Director, at 781-860-0200 ext.1006 to make your stock gift.
• Individual Retirement Account: If you or a family member are 70½ or older with an individual retirement account (IRA), you can make a tax-free gift to Agassiz Village directly from your IRA. This is called a qualified charitable distribution. Through the SECURE Act you can transfer any amount up to $100,000 per year directly to a qualified charitable organization without paying income tax on the distribution.
• Donor-Advised Funds: Give through your donor-advised fund to maximize your impact. Your fund sponsor handles all record-keeping, disbursements, and tax receipts.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register? Registration is not yet open, but once it is it will be available via online form on this page. You should fill out the form above, and indicate whether you will stay overnight, come just for volunteer projects during the day on Saturday (no overnight stay), and who is coming with you. Families/kids welcome.
What does the schedule for the weekend look like? Please check back later for more information.
How do lodging and meals work? Lodging is provided on Friday and Saturday nights in Maloney Lodge and camper cabins on a first come first serve basis. You may arrive anytime on Friday or Saturday and choose from the remaining available housing. Maloney Lodge is a brick building with dorm-style double rooms and a shared bathroom. Camper cabins each have two toilets and sinks and are within walking distance of a communal shower house. Bring warm linens and pajamas - it can get chilly at night and none of our buildings are heated (and the cabins are not insulated). Meals are included free of charge Friday dinner through Sunday lunch - if you plan to stay outside of these times please make other arrangements. Everybody must leave by Sunday night.
What projects can I expect to work on? We have lots of camp improvement projects to keep you busy! Exact projects are still to be determined, but may include cleaning and organization, painting projects, landscaping and gardening, and more.
What should I pack? Make sure you bring weather appropriate clothing you can work in and pajamas, a sleeping bag or linens for a twin bed, towel(s), and toiletries. It is also always helpful for you to bring supplies for volunteer projects - white or gray paint and brushes for painting, gardening tools and flowers, rags and cleaning supplies, books and games for the library, and other tools/supplies are appreciated!
How much does Volunteer Weekend cost? Volunteer Weekend is free! If you are able, we instead respectfully request that you bring a book to donate to our camp library, paint, or flowers. Thank you!
